On social media, I can put myself out there and really express myself.

In face-to-face life, no one seems to genuinely listen, see me, and care.

Fill in the blank: “If it weren't for social media, no one would see or care about my…”
Opinion? Talent? Pain? Success? Beauty? Intelligence?
The truth is, if you were to delete your socials, throw away your phone and crawl into the darkness, there is One who would still see you.
Even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
Psalm 139: 12

One among billions

Moments after viewing your “likes”, comments, or shares, the feeling of being seen and heard floats away. Then you wait for the next notification to pop up.
Those expressions of yourself get lost in the sea of everyone else’s posts again.
So who is that person that sees you even in the darkness?
God, your Maker, sees and knows you and everything about your unique self, even among billions of others in this world.
He knows you truly and fully, and he loves you despite the parts you may wish to hide.

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
And when I wake up, you are still with me!
Psalm 139: 1, 13, 17, 18b
